Indigenous Dance: Kyla Leilani, Notorious Cree, Supaman, and Makhena Rankin Guerin
Kyla Leilani provides a rare glimpse into Indigenous Pow Wow, and Fancy Dance. We travel with her to Pow Wows keeping Native dance traditions alive. We dive below the flashy iconic costumes to understand that Indigenous dance is a community ritual. The dances, drumming, singing and regalia are sacred and tell a collective story of power and health. Wačhípi is the Lakota word for Pow Pow a pan-1st nations celebration of dance, music and culture across Turtle Island (North American).
